Querétaro Governor honors healthcare workers during pandemic tribute

Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González led the ‘Health Heroes’ ceremony to honor healthcare professionals who served during the COVID-19 pandemic. The event specifically recognized 14 health workers who contracted the virus while performing their duties and successfully recovered from severe cases.

The recognition extended to a wide range of staff, including doctors, nurses, orderlies, laboratory technicians, cleaning staff, administrative personnel, and security workers. Governor Kuri emphasized the human dimension of their work, noting that these individuals faced fear, exhaustion, and separation from their families while fulfilling their missions under intense pressure.

During the ceremony, recognized individuals such as nurse Beatriz Hernández Landaverde and pediatrician Humberto Echavarría Loya shared their personal experiences from the health emergency. Griselda Sáenz Horta, president of the Health Heroes Committee in Querétaro, stated that the tribute aims to express societal gratitude toward the workers and the families who supported them.
