Querétaro honors artisans and artists at state award ceremonies

The 12th State Handicraft Award of Querétaro was held to recognize the talent and cultural heritage of local artisans. Organized by the Casa Queretana de las Artesanías (CQA), the ceremony presented 30 awards across various artisanal branches to honor the mastery of traditional techniques and materials. José Alfredo Vázquez Morales received the state award.

In a separate cultural event, the Eréndira State Awards were presented to celebrate excellence in dance, visual arts, and music. The 2026 recipients include the La Serpiente Dance Company, visual artist Ioulia Akhmadeeva, and musician Joaquín Bautista Ramírez. During the ceremony, the founders of La Serpiente used the platform to criticize the lack of government support for the arts, noting the financial difficulties faced by independent artists when attempting to use public venues.
