Querétaro hosts first psychiatry congress to strengthen mental health networks
The First Psychiatry Congress, titled ‘Construyendo Redes en Salud Mental’ (Building Mental Health Networks), has commenced at the Universidad Anáhuac Querétaro. The event brings together specialists, academic institutions, and government authorities to strengthen mental health care and coordination within the state.
Querétaro Health Secretary María Martina Pérez Rendón inaugurated the congress, emphasizing the importance of the State Network for the Prevention and Care of Mental Health. This network involves public health agencies, academic institutions, and civil organizations. Pérez Rendón noted that addressing mental health requires well-prepared professionals and institutions working in unison, particularly to support younger generations.
Coordinated by the Colegio Queretano de Psiquiatras under the presidency of Gabriela Armas Castañeda, the congress focuses on addressing challenges such as addiction and depression. The gathering serves as a platform for professionals to exchange experiences and update knowledge to help shape future public health policies.
