Querétaro hosts traditional gastronomy event “Saborea Querétaro”

The “Saborea Querétaro: del huerto a la mesa” event is set to showcase the traditional gastronomy and identity of Querétaro. Organized by Zona Viva in collaboration with IGES Universidad and the Conservatorio de la Cultura Gastronómica Queretana, the activity will take place on September 19.

The program includes a focus on the ceremonial tortilla of Corregidora and the importance of heirloom corn. Participants will engage in a workshop to create and seal their own ceremonial tortillas, followed by a tasting of regional dishes such as nopales tostadas, milpa gorditas, and chickpea stew. The event aims to promote sustainability, environmental education, and local consumption through its urban garden setting.
