Querétaro implements maternity support and receives sanitary certification
Public security forces in Querétaro have inaugurated a certified institutional lactation room to support female officers during maternity. The space, promoted by Secretary of Security and Peace Juan Mauro González, provides a private and hygienic environment for breastfeeding mothers to extract and store milk during work hours. To facilitate the transition back to work, nursing employees are entitled to two 30-minute breaks or a one-hour reduction at the start or end of their shifts for 180 days. Additionally, the Medical Unit held a preventive health workshop for 12 pregnant officers focusing on prenatal care, nutrition, and risk identification.
Separately, the Querétaro Health Secretariat (SESA) announced that its Directorate for Protection Against Sanitary Risks has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification. Secretary María Martina Pérez Rendón stated that the certification recognizes the institution's commitment to continuous improvement, technical knowledge, and the quality of sanitary surveillance and control processes to protect public health.
