Querétaro implements new environmental, safety, and administrative initiatives

The state of Querétaro is implementing several major administrative, environmental, and security initiatives. In environmental efforts, the Morebús project will include the reforestation of 32,000 trees to capture 1,800 tons of carbon annually. Additionally, the state’s Low Carbon Emission Seal has engaged 59 industries, resulting in the compensation of over 1.2 million tons of CO2.

Regarding public safety and technology, the state has launched ‘Alerta Matías,’ an early warning system for meteorological, geological, and urban risks. To improve administrative efficiency in addiction services, the SIARA platform was introduced to reduce information request times from eight days to four hours. Meanwhile, the State Attorney General reported a 36 percent reduction in homicides between 2024 and 2026 through the ‘Sinergia por Querétaro’ strategy.

Politically, Movimiento Ciudadano has called for Governor Mauricio Kuri and his cabinet to undergo the ‘6 de 6’ transparency and polygraph tests. In the municipal sector, Corregidora’s mayor, Chepe Guerrero, submitted his second annual report detailing 500 million pesos in public works. Finally, Aeroméxico is expanding its CDMX-Querétaro route by 40 percent for the winter season to boost connectivity.
