Querétaro implements socioemotional program for 18,000 preschoolers

The Querétaro state government, in coordination with Sesame Workshop, has implemented the “Listos a Jugar” educational program. The initiative currently benefits 18,301 children aged four and five across 174 preschools in 12 municipalities.

The program aims to strengthen socioemotional skills, promote healthy habits, and foster positive relationships during early childhood. It provides tools for children to recognize and manage emotions, care for their bodies, and adopt healthy eating habits.

Educational authorities, including Governor Mauricio Kuri González and Secretary of Education Martha Soto, highlighted the importance of early intervention. The strategy includes educational materials for teachers, observation visits to kindergartens, and workshops for directors and families. The program is scheduled to continue through June 11, 2027.
