Querétaro institutions promote indigenous political rights

The Electoral Institute of the State of Querétaro (IEEQ) and the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ) have launched a training program focused on the political-electoral rights of indigenous persons and communities within the state.

The initiative, led by the IEEQ Inclusion Commission and the Gender and Inclusion Unit, aims to sensitize electoral officials to ensure effective participation and substantive political equality for indigenous populations. Officials stated the training is intended to translate institutional commitment into concrete actions, improving how staff listen to, orient, and assist indigenous citizens during electoral processes.
