Querétaro launches sixth Wine Festival to boost enotourism
The sixth edition of the Querétaro Wine Festival has officially launched in Corregidora, aiming to solidify enotourism as a primary pillar of the state's tourism industry. State Secretary of Tourism Adriana Vega Vázquez Mellado inaugurated the event, noting that the administration of Governor Mauricio Kuri González has spent the last five years working to position regional vineyards in both national and international markets.
The enotourism model is designed to act as an economic catalyst by linking wine production with other local sectors, including artisanal cheese making, traditional and contemporary gastronomy, crafts, and hospitality services. This integrated approach seeks to provide sustainable growth opportunities for families and communities within the semi-desert and metropolitan areas.
Scheduled from October 16 to 18, the festival features technical sessions, wine salons, tastings, workshops, and cultural activities. Public events held at Plaza del Gran Cué are expected to attract approximately four thousand attendees.
