Querétaro man sentenced to three years for armed robberies
Juan Diego “N” has been sentenced to three years in prison for two commercial robberies committed in the Santa María Magdalena neighborhood of Querétaro. The sentencing was issued by a judicial authority during an abbreviated procedure hearing on August 10, 2026.
The first incident occurred on August 1, 2024, when the defendant and an accomplice entered a commercial establishment and used a machete to steal a cell phone and two laptops. The second incident took place on September 5, 2024, at a local grocery store, where the defendant and an accomplice used a knife to threaten a victim and steal cash and various products.
In addition to the prison term, the sentence includes 300 days of fines totaling 32,571 pesos and a requirement to pay 93,823.87 pesos for damages in one of the cases. Due to his criminal record, Juan Diego “N” was denied any substitute benefits for the sentence, which also includes the suspension of his rights and a private reprimand.
