Querétaro mayor launches free internet for market vendors

Mayor Felipe Fernando Macías Olvera announced that the municipality of Querétaro will provide free Wi‑Fi service to vendors in the city’s eight public markets. The connection is expected to let merchants accept electronic payments, expand online sales and improve communication with customers, saving each vendor roughly 600 pesos a month and generating an estimated annual benefit of more than 1.2 million pesos for the markets.

The rollout brings the city’s total of free‑internet points to 200, including 50 new locations in Santa Rosa Jáuregui, and is part of a broader effort to increase digital access for residents and support local commerce.
