Querétaro Mayor reinforces actions against street vending
Querétaro Mayor Felifer Macías announced intensified measures to combat unauthorized street vending in the capital. The administration has filed five complaints with the Prosecutor's Office regarding incidents involving street vendor groups, including road blockades, threats, and alleged aggressions against established merchants.
Macías stated that the city will not tolerate the manipulation or extortion attempted by these groups, which he claims impact public mobility and the rights of formal businesses. The crackdown will extend beyond the Historic Center to other areas of the city. The mayor also noted that some groups may be politically manipulated or involve individuals from other states attempting to occupy public spaces.
