Querétaro, Mexico to Host Fifth ‘De la Piel a la Galería’ Festival August 1‑2, 2026

The Centro de las Artes de Querétaro (CEART) will host the Fifth National Community Education Encounter for Body Artists, known as the “De la Piel a la Galería” festival, on 1 and 2 August 2026. The event is organized by the state Secretariat of Culture, led by Ana Paola López Birlain, and will be free to the public.

Around 250 tattooists, piercers, body‑modification artists and other creative professionals are expected to participate, with an anticipated audience of about 4,000 visitors. The program includes workshops, seminars, exhibitions, a creative‑economy platform, musical performances and urban‑art activities. According to López Birlain, “it is important for the Secretariat of Culture to support initiatives that promote talent, generate collaborative networks and open new opportunities for creators, strengthening the orange economy.” Festival director Daniel Rosas added that the gathering also draws visual artists, musicians, health experts, cultural institutions and researchers, aiming to improve bio‑security, ergonomics, and professional standards in the body‑art sector.
