The Municipality of Querétaro is evaluating the permanent implementation of a road assistance program to manage traffic congestion. Mayor Felipe Macías Olvera announced that the city is reviewing budget sufficiency to transition the current 70 road assistants from temporary to permanent employment.

The deployment was initially a temporary response to traffic disruptions caused by federal works on the Mexico-Querétaro train and construction on Highway 57. These projects have diverted significant vehicle volume toward major arteries such as Bernardo Quintana, Constituyentes, and Avenida Corregidora.

In addition to personnel, the city plans to maintain intermittent traffic lights to facilitate smoother circulation. The decision to seek a permanent labor scheme follows positive feedback from citizens and the successful mitigation of traffic issues in key areas including Los Arcos, Paseo de la Constitución, and the Epigmenio González and Cayetano Rubio intersection.
