Querétaro Notary Suspensions End as Council Cuts Citizen Complaints

Two notaries in the Mexican state of Querétaro have completed their suspension periods. Secretary of Government Carmen Galván Eric Gudiño said the suspensions for Notary offices 4 and 20 have ended, but the delivery of folios and seals from the Archivo General de Notarías is still pending before the notaries can resume work. The suspensions of Notary 7 in San Juan del Río (May 29 2026 – Aug 31) and Notary 21 (July 1 – Aug 3) remain in effect.

The Council of Notaries of Querétaro reported that it has reduced pending citizen complaints from 156 to about 52 through a 10‑day conciliation process. Council president Luis Eduardo Ugalde Tinoco explained that the council can only offer technical opinions; unresolved cases are forwarded to the state Secretariat of Government, which retains authority to impose sanctions.
