Querétaro officials inspect homes ahead of Mexico-Querétaro train works
Civil Protection authorities in Querétaro have begun conducting structural inspections of homes on Héroe de Nacozari Street. This measure is being taken prior to the start of construction for the Mexico-Querétaro train project on nearby Invierno Street.
Eric Gudiño, the Secretary of Government for Querétaro, stated that these assessments aim to document the current condition of each residence. These reports will serve as official evidence for residents to support potential claims for repairs or compensation through the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transport (SICT) should any damage occur during the construction process.
The inspections are expected to continue over the next two weeks. This proactive step follows resident concerns regarding previous construction impacts in areas such as Las Brujas, MET 100, and Las Teresas. The SICT has previously committed to repairing damage in 27 homes in the Las Brujas neighborhood caused by ongoing railway works.
