Querétaro parents block school access over teacher misconduct allegations

Parents at the Rogelio Garfias Ruiz Elementary School in Ciudad del Sol, Querétaro, blocked access to the campus on the first day of the 2026-2027 school year. The protest was aimed at the Unit of Services for Basic Education of the State of Querétaro (USEBEQ), demanding the removal of a teacher accused of bullying, harassment, and discrimination against three students.

According to parents, the issues began during the previous school year. While the school administration reportedly filed several reports and the case is currently with USEBEQ’s legal department, no official ruling has been issued regarding the teacher's responsibilities. The protest was eventually cleared by USEBEQ personnel and municipal Civic Guard, allowing students and staff to enter the premises.
