Querétaro pilgrimage to Tepeyac proceeds safely with state security
State protection civil authorities and the Policía Estatal coordinated an inter‑institutional escort for more than 5,000 pilgrims traveling from Neblinas in the Sierra Gorda toward the Basilica of Guadalupe in Tepeyac. The operation covered the municipalities of Landa de Matamoros, Jalpan de Serra, Pinal de Amoles and the semidesert zone, maintaining smooth progress and reporting only minor health complaints such as blisters, dehydration and mild stomach issues.
Health brigades from the state Secretariat of Health provided medical assistance, recording 670 consultations along the route. They distributed 9,342 oral rehydration packets, 326 colloidal‑silver bottles for water disinfection, 74 L of gel‑antibacterial, delivered 138 health talks to nearly 5,000 participants, and inspected sanitary conditions at numerous rest stops and food stalls. No serious emergencies or evacuations were required.
