Querétaro pilgrimage to the Basilica of Guadalupe ends without incidents

The 136th pilgrimage organized by the Diocese of Querétaro concluded on Sunday, July 26, with more than 68,500 participants—including 28,600 women, 33,400 men and 6,500 cyclists—arriving safely at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. Governor Mauricio Kuri González ordered the State Civil Protection Coordination to oversee the event for the fifth consecutive year, deploying a preventive device that involved over 70 security, health and inspection agencies across Querétaro, the State of Mexico, Hidalgo and the capital.

Medical services provided 3,702 minor‑incident consultations, distributed 37,252 oral rehydration sachets, 46 bottles of colloidal silver for water sanitation and 349 L of hand‑gel. Health promotion included 388 informational sessions for 24,486 people and 874 talks for 3,379 food‑service workers. Sanitation efforts inspected 442 toilets and delivered 666 kg of lime to improve hygiene at sites lacking permanent facilities.

Bishop Fidencio López Plaza addressed the pilgrims, emphasizing the journey as a chance for spiritual renewal and communal solidarity.
