Querétaro political leaders debate infrastructure and security

Political figures in Querétaro are addressing the state's administration and legislative priorities. Arturo Maximiliano García Pérez, a deputy from the Morena party, criticized the state government's first five years of results during the Fifth Government Report. He highlighted significant contrasts in infrastructure, water access, energy, and security. Specifically, he questioned the 7 billion peso cost of the Paseo 5 de Febrero project, citing delays and defects, and noted that many communities still lack basic potable water.

García Pérez also raised concerns regarding domestic violence and gender-based violence, noting thousands of reported cases in 2025. Additionally, he called for greater transparency regarding state debt and criticized the high costs of the State Energy Agency.

In a separate engagement, PAN Senator Agustín Dorantes Lámbarri met with over 150 lawyers to discuss his legislative focus. Dorantes emphasized that his priorities include security, energy, water, and orderly urban growth. While acknowledging that Querétaro's security situation is better than several other Mexican states, he stressed the need for greater efficiency in using taxpayer resources to improve quality of life.
