Querétaro prosecutor links adolescent to homicide in Corregidora

The Querétaro State Attorney General's Office has formally linked an adolescent to a criminal process for qualified homicide following an incident in the Benito Juárez neighborhood, known as La Negreta, in the municipality of Corregidora.

The incident occurred on September 5, 2026, when the victim, Carlos Patiño “Quito,” was with his family during an outbreak of violence. According to investigations, the victim intervened to protect his relatives and was subsequently struck by several individuals. During the assault, the accused adolescent allegedly used a sharp object to inflict fatal injuries.

A judicial authority has ordered preventive detention for the adolescent as a precautionary measure. The prosecution has established a two-month period for complementary investigations to fully clarify the events and determine if other individuals were involved in the attack.
