Querétaro prosecutors label Urquiza land dispute a family inheritance conflict

The Querétaro State Attorney General's Office has denied allegations from the Urquiza Fernández family that the institution is being used to pressure them in a dispute over 269 hectares of land and water rights in Huimilpan.

State Attorney General Víctor Antonio de Jesús Hernández clarified that the investigation stems from a family conflict regarding the administration of assets and an inheritance estate. He noted that the investigation was initiated by a grandmother of one of the family members, and the accused individuals include her own children and grandchildren. Hernández emphasized that all investigative techniques and searches were conducted under judicial control and in accordance with the law.

Addressing claims regarding former governor Francisco Domínguez Servién, Hernández stated that the former official does not appear in the criminal case as either an offended party or an accused individual. The Attorney General concluded that the determination of property rights belongs to civil and family courts rather than criminal authorities.
