Querétaro reports dengue case and one death

The Querétaro State Health Secretariat has confirmed one local case of dengue in the municipality of Querétaro, along with one death resulting from the disease.

As of August 7, 2026, health authorities have intensified prevention and control measures across 45 localities. These actions include the collection of 35.8 tons of waste to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, larvicidal treatments in over 34,000 homes, and the placement of over 19,000 ovitraps.

Nationally, Mexico has reported 3,494 confirmed dengue cases and seven deaths as of July 27, 2026. Health officials urge the population to eliminate standing water, use protection against mosquito bites, and seek medical attention immediately if symptoms such as fever appear.
