Querétaro restaurants prepare for charity drive and year-end sales growth

The restaurant sector in Querétaro is preparing for significant activity through both charitable initiatives and seasonal growth. On October 8, local food and beverage establishments will participate in 'Restauratón 2026,' an initiative led by Fundación Teletón. Participating businesses will donate a percentage of their daily sales to support the Hospital Infantil Teletón de Oncología (HITO), which specializes in treating children with cancer. According to Teletón representative Clara Sanz, the annual cost of cancer treatment for a single child is approximately one million pesos, and the hospital currently reports an 86 percent survival rate.

Separately, the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (CANIRAC) in Querétaro anticipates a boost in business during the upcoming year-end holidays. President Citlalli Camacho projects that sales could increase by 10% to 20% due to Christmas and New Year celebrations. Many establishments are already preparing special menus and group packages to capitalize on the expected rise in local and visitor consumption.
