Querétaro rolls out digital education law and MAGRID preschool platform

The State of Querétaro is beginning implementation of a digital education law approved by its Congress on 28 May. A plan of workshops, conferences and campaigns will target schools, teachers, families and authorities to promote responsible use of digital technologies and prevent online risks such as cyber‑bullying, grooming, identity theft and sextortion. Deputy Arturo Maximiliano García Pérez highlighted the need for participation from public officials, educational institutions and civil‑society groups, while the state education secretariat and Morena officials voiced support.

Governor Mauricio Kuri González also unveiled MAGRID, an interactive tablet‑based platform for public preschools. Designed to strengthen cognitive development in children aged 3‑8 through game‑based learning, MAGRID will be the first such tool used statewide in Mexico. The rollout, slated for the 2026‑2027 school year, will initially serve 1,027 children across 23 schools in Querétaro, El Marqués, Huimilpan and San Juan del Río, including provisions for neurodivergent learners. Tablets will be supplied by the state, teachers will receive training from 25‑28 August, and the program is set to launch in September.
