Querétaro seeks train project details and rolls out digital notarization system

State officials in Querétaro are pressing the federal government for technical data on the complementary works linked to the Mexico‑Querétaro high‑speed rail project. Secretary of Government Eric Gudiño said preliminary approval has been given for 28 of the 42 proposed works in the municipalities of San Juan del Río, Pedro Escobedo, El Marqués and Querétaro, but specific investment amounts, locations and design details have not yet been disclosed. Gudiño emphasized that these works are essential for station functionality and local mobility, and he has requested a meeting with the federal Secretary of Infrastructure and the head of the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency to obtain the missing information.

Separately, the state’s Subsecretary of Government Carlos Hale Palacios announced that the digital authorization of notarial folios will begin this week. The new Veritas Folium platform integrates advanced electronic signatures and QR‑code verification, giving electronic signatures the same legal weight as handwritten ones. With roughly 95 % of the 114 notaries in Querétaro already equipped with advanced electronic signing capabilities, training for notaries is scheduled for 3–7 August, and the digital system is expected to be operational shortly.

Both initiatives reflect Querétaro’s broader push to modernize infrastructure and public‑service processes.
