Querétaro State Congress honors Mexican Army

The LXI Legislature of the State of Querétaro held a solemn session to honor the Mexican Army by unveiling golden lettering in the ‘Constituyentes de 1916-1917’ Session Hall. The inscription reads: ‘Ejército Mexicano: Patria, Honor y Lealtad’ (Mexican Army: Fatherland, Honor, and Loyalty).

Sinuhé Arturo Piedragil Ortiz, president of the Board of Directors, stated that the tribute recognizes the service of men and women in the military, specifically highlighting their roles in national security, protecting strategic installations, combating fuel theft, and supporting major infrastructure projects such as the Tren Maya and the Mexico City-Querétaro railway. He also noted the military's assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic through the DN-III-E Plan.

Brigadier General José Guillermo Lira Hernández, commander of the 17th Military Zone, accepted the recognition, noting that the values inscribed represent the identity and conduct of the armed forces. The ceremony was attended by various military officials, including Colonel José Ramón Pereira, commander of the Fourth Armored Regiment.
