Querétaro State Prepares 86 Shelters for Rainy Season

The government of the Mexican state of Querétaro activated a statewide strategy to address contingencies during the rainy season, designating 86 shelters that can be opened if needed.

The plan, presented by Secretary of Government Eric Gudiño Torres, coordinates state agencies, municipal governments and federal authorities. It includes a Social Command Center to receive citizen reports, continuous weather monitoring by Civil Protection coordinator Javier Amaya Torres, training of community promoters in first aid, evacuation and emergency response, and a cabinet liaison for each of the 18 municipalities to strengthen local coordination.
