Querétaro to Host 8th International “Mi Voz y un Bolero” Festival

The State Secretariat of Culture, led by Ana Paola López Birlain, announced the eighth edition of the International “Mi Voz y un Bolero” festival in Querétaro. The program runs on 27 July, and on 13, 26 and 27 August 2024 across venues including the Casa del Faldón Cultural Center, the historic centre delegation, and the Teatro de la Ciudad.

Events will feature concerts, exhibitions and talks that aim to bring the bolero genre to audiences of all ages. Performers such as Los Panchos, Los Santos and the Orquesta “Somos Bolero” will headline, while the festival highlights the recent UNESCO inscription of the bolero on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (2023). Organisers stressed that the festival reflects a collaborative effort among artists, cultural promoters, public institutions and civil society to preserve and revitalize this musical tradition.

The initiative is presented as a way to strengthen Querétaro’s cultural identity, foster inter‑generational connections and promote the city as a national reference for artistic heritage preservation.
