Querétaro women's secretariat partners with sports clubs for gender perspective initiative

The Querétaro State Secretariat for Women (SEMUJERES) has partnered with Gallos Blancos Femenil and Club Querétaro to launch initiatives aimed at eradicating violence against women and promoting gender perspective in sports.

A key component of this collaboration is the “Medios con Perspectiva” (Media with Perspective) workshop. The program is designed to foster sports communication free from violence against women. The workshop sessions are scheduled to take place at the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ) on Fridays from August 28 through September 18.

Sonia Rocha Acosta, head of SEMUJERES, emphasized that women have the right to occupy all sports-related spaces, including pitches, stands, and microphones, without facing violence. The alliance seeks to involve professional athletes, media outlets, content creators, and fans to build safer environments and responsible communication standards, such as the “Código 8M,” which focuses on dignity, human rights, and responsible language.
