Qrobus ridership rises 8% amid Bernardo Quintana lane closures in Querétaro

According to INEGI’s Urban Passenger Transport Statistics, the Qrobus system in Querétaro moved about 0.5 million passengers in May 2026, an 8.3 % year‑on‑year increase, while total kilometres travelled grew 2 %.

To accommodate construction of the Tren México‑Querétaro, the Bernardo Quintana bridge has had two central lanes closed in the Plaza del Parque → Los Arcos direction, reducing road capacity by roughly 40 % and operating nightly from 23:00 to 05:00. The opposite direction remains unchanged. Public‑transport routes T02, T13, C57 and C63 continue service, though the Troncal 2 line now experiences an average 33‑minute delay.

Despite the typical 35 % vacation dip in ridership, four routes crossing the work zone have seen a 35 % boost in users, indicating commuters are opting for Qrobus over private vehicles. Local industrial SMEs have asked authorities for a special scheme to allow cargo trucks to use the affected boulevard during the seven‑week construction period.
