Quetzaltenango authorities investigate death of missing 14-year-old

Authorities in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, have launched an investigation following the discovery of 14-year-old Indira Dulce Stefany Gómez Englenton dead inside a residence in zone 5.

Gómez Englenton had been reported missing on September 24, triggering an ‘Alba-Keneth’ search alert. She was last seen in the same area where her body was eventually located. The National Civil Police (PNC) and prosecutors from the Public Ministry (MP) have arrived at the scene to conduct forensic procedures and recover the body.

The specific cause of death has not yet been released by officials. The teenager was a student at a music school, where she had previously served as the institution's queen. Her death has caused significant public outcry and grief within the local community.
