Quick commerce market shifts toward profitability and 30-minute delivery

The quick commerce (q-commerce) sector is experiencing a shift in market dynamics, moving away from the initial boom of heavily subsidized 10-minute deliveries toward more sustainable business models.

In Germany, the market has evolved following the exit of players like Gorillas and Getir. The current landscape focuses on approximately 30-minute fulfillment, larger average order baskets, and improved unit economics. Retailers are increasingly collaborating with delivery platforms and fulfillment partners to manage logistics.

Evidence of a more profitable model has emerged, with Flink reporting that it reached EBITDA profitability in March 2026, maintaining an average basket value of over €45. The service model has also expanded beyond groceries to include beauty products, pet supplies, pharmacy items, and small electronics.
