Quiliano waste tax changes spark opposition criticism

The opposition group Futura Quiliano has criticized the new TARI waste tax assessments in Quiliano. While a new calculation method and improved debt recovery have led to an overall average decrease of approximately 10%, the opposition notes that the tax remains about 5% higher than 2023 levels.

Rodolfo Fersini, leader of the group, highlighted that the changes do not benefit all residents. Due to a revised criterion for 'unserved users'—where the distance threshold for a 60% tax reduction was increased from 300 to 500 meters from waste collection points—approximately 200 households may face a tax increase of roughly 150%. This change could result in some residents paying two and a half times their previous rate.
