Social welfare initiatives provide disability support in Argentina and Mexico

Various social welfare initiatives are being implemented in Argentina and Mexico to support individuals with disabilities and promote community integration.

In Hidalgo, Mexico, Edda Vite Ramos, president of the Patronato del Sistema DIF Hidalgo, oversaw the distribution of technical aids to 39 residents from 13 municipalities. These supports, managed through the CRIH, include hearing aids and electric wheelchairs, aimed at fostering autonomy and addressing often invisible disabilities like hearing loss.

In Quilmes, Argentina, the Fundación Banco Provincia, in collaboration with Familias TEA, donated 200 hearing protectors to primary schools, special education centers, and municipal institutions. The delivery, held on Provincial Autism Day, aims to support educational and social inclusion for individuals with autism and other neurodivergences who experience hyperacusis.

Additionally, in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina, the Comodoro Rugby Club and the Don Bosco neighborhood association signed a collaboration agreement. This initiative provides 30 full scholarships—15 for rugby and 15 for hockey—to children and adolescents, exempting them from social fees and sports activity costs to ensure economic status does not prevent athletic participation.
