Quilmes to pave 54 blocks in Ezpeleta neighborhoods
The interim mayor of Quilmes, Eva Mieri, has announced a new infrastructure project to pave 54 blocks in the El Jalón and La Orbea neighborhoods of Ezpeleta. The initiative is part of the 2025–2027 Biannual Plan, which was originally promoted by provincial deputy Mayra Mendoza.
The project will utilize municipal funds to install concrete paving and construct storm drainage systems, including new sumps, chambers, and pipes. These improvements aim to enhance water runoff and reduce flooding risks. Additionally, pothole repairs will be conducted on 22 other blocks to restore deteriorated areas.
Local officials stated that the works are intended to improve circulation and ensure easier access for essential services, such as ambulances and waste collection vehicles. Mieri noted that the municipality has paved over 1,300 blocks in the last six years, working toward a goal of 1,600 new paved streets by 2027.
