Quimcos receives Good Manufacturing Practices certification

Quimcos, a laboratory based in Cuenca, has become the first manufacturer of cosmetic products in Ecuador's Zone 6—comprising the provinces of Azuay, Cañar, and Morona Santiago—to receive Good Manufacturing Practices (BPM) certification.

The certification was granted by the National Agency for Regulation, Control, and Sanitary Surveillance (Arcsa) following an evaluation of the company's facilities, equipment, personnel, raw materials, production processes, and quality control measures. The laboratory specializes in facial care and cleansing products, including exfoliants, moisturizers, and masks.

These standards are designed to ensure hygiene and safety by controlling various manufacturing stages to prevent contamination that could affect skin health or consumer safety. The achievement is noted as a milestone for the regional cosmetic industry, potentially encouraging other manufacturers in the area to adopt higher quality and safety standards.
