Quimper implements traffic calming measures to improve road safety

Authorities in Quimper have implemented new traffic calming measures on the route du Lendu and route de l'Arbre-du-Chapon following resident requests. The changes aim to address safety concerns caused by increased traffic, which reached approximately 400 vehicles per day during the summer of 2026.

New infrastructure includes three stop signs at the intersection of the two roads and several chicanes designed to limit passage to one vehicle at a time in new 30 km/h zones. The maximum authorized speed on these axes has been set to 50 km/h. These measures are currently being trialed until the summer of 2027, and municipal police are expected to conduct speed checks in the coming weeks.
