Quinnipiac women's hockey sweeps University of Maine opening series

The University of Maine women’s ice hockey team recently completed an opening series at Alfond Arena, facing No. 6 Quinnipiac. The Bobcats secured a sweep of the Black Bears, winning the second game 4-1 following a 2-1 comeback victory on Friday.

During the Saturday matchup, Quinnipiac utilized speed to overcome Maine’s physical play. Alex Law scored an early goal, and defender Anysley D’Ottavio added a second to extend the lead. Quinnipiac also successfully neutralized Maine’s power play for the sixth consecutive time during the weekend.

Looking ahead, Maine is scheduled to host St. Lawrence for a two-game series on October 1 and 2, 2026. The Black Bears aim to secure their first win against the Bobcats since 2018 and improve their season record.
