Quinta Brunson provides update on upcoming Betty Boop film

Quinta Brunson, creator and star of ‘Abbott Elementary’, has provided updates on a new Betty Boop film she is developing and starring in. During an appearance on ‘Good Morning America’, Brunson teased that the project will offer an unexpected perspective on the iconic character.

Brunson indicated that the film will explore more than just the character herself, focusing instead on an era of animation and the historical implications surrounding Betty Boop’s creation. She noted that the story is “unlike anything anyone expects” and aims to shine a light on aspects of American history related to the character's origins.

The project is being produced by Brunson’s Fifth Chance Productions in collaboration with Fleischer Studios, the rights holder for the character created by Max Fleischer. Specific details regarding the release date and additional cast members have not yet been announced.
