Quinta Falcão to host new Cristiano Ronaldo themed leisure space

A new leisure and visitation space is planned for the Quinta Falcão neighborhood in Santo António, Funchal, centered on the history of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo. The project was presented by Parish Council President Marcelo Gouveia during the 460th anniversary celebrations of Santo António.

The initiative aims to repurpose currently vacant land owned by the Funchal City Council. The area, which offers panoramic views of the city, is already a frequent stop for tourists using tuk-tuks and taxis seeking to visit the location where Ronaldo lived. The project intends to recover existing terraces to create a space for both local residents and visitors.

According to Gouveia, the plan includes making explicit references to the international footballer, an idea that has received favorable feedback from Ronaldo's family. One aspect of the proposal involves preserving one of the walls from the house where the athlete once resided. The project is currently in a preliminary stage and is expected to evolve into a final design.
