Quintana Roo provides free Ulzibat method surgeries for 42 patients
A medical initiative in Quintana Roo has provided 42 patients with free specialized surgeries to improve mobility and quality of life. The procedures utilize the Ulzibat method, a Russian surgical technique involving gradual fibrotomy to treat muscle spasticity and contractures through minimally invasive microincisions.
The surgical campaign was held at the Hospital General Jesús Kumate Rodríguez and was a coordinated effort involving the State DIF, the Secretariat of Health, IMSS-Bienestar, and the MGAS Community Development Foundation. Specialists from the Tula Rehabilitation Institute in Russia worked alongside Mexican medical personnel to perform the interventions.
Beneficiaries included children and young people from ten different municipalities, such as Benito Juárez, Cozumel, Tulum, and Bacalar. The program aims to provide high-level specialized care locally, preventing families from having to travel long distances to access such treatments.
