Quintana Roo authorities process 13 for drug crimes and graduate 244 police officers

Authorities in Quintana Roo have taken significant steps to bolster regional security through both judicial actions and personnel expansion. The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) successfully obtained legal proceedings against 13 individuals for various drug-related offenses across several municipalities.

In Benito Juárez (Cancún), several individuals were processed for the supply and possession of cannabis and methamphetamine. Additional arrests and legal proceedings occurred in Puerto Morelos, Tulum, and Othón P. Blanco (Chetumal) involving the possession of marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamine.

Simultaneously, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa presided over the graduation of 244 specialized police officers from the University of Sciences and Disciplines of Security of Quintana Roo. The new recruits include 179 proximity police officers, 13 prison officers, 16 special surveillance unit members, and 28 members of the Jaguar Tactical Force. Notably, the ceremony marked the creation of the first Explosive Device Search, Location, and Neutralization Group (BLONAE), consisting of eight specialists in electronics and controlled detonation.
