Quintana Roo celebrates MICHELIN Guide honors and new Mayan museum

Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa has highlighted significant cultural and gastronomic developments in Quintana Roo. In the culinary sector, 19 restaurants in the state have been recognized in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide. These distinctions include three restaurants earning a MICHELIN Star, four receiving the Bib Gourmand for quality and value, and 12 receiving Michelin Recommendations. Notable establishments include Hartwood and Nü in Tulum, as well as various dining locations in Playa del Carmen and Cancún.

Simultaneously, the Museo Regional de la Costa Oriental has opened in Tulum within the Jaguar National Park. The museum houses over 300 Mayan archaeological pieces and offers free admission from Tuesday to Sunday. The facility aims to integrate archaeology with education through workshops, film screenings, and cultural presentations, providing a new space to preserve and showcase the region's Mayan heritage.
