Quintana Roo expected to experience rain and strong winds

Quintana Roo is facing weather instability due to a low-pressure channel interacting with moisture from the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. Meteorological authorities have advised caution for coastal and urban areas as the region anticipates rain accumulations between 5 and 25 millimeters, accompanied by scattered electrical activity.

In the northern municipalities, Benito Juárez will see partially cloudy skies with rain and showers, with maximum temperatures reaching up to 33 degrees Celsius and a heat index of 36 degrees. Lázaro Cárdenas and Isla Mujeres are expected to be quite hot, with maximum temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius. Puerto Morelos will experience maximum temperatures of 33 degrees with north and northeast winds.

Coastal areas may encounter wind gusts between 30 and 50 kilometers per hour and elevated waves reaching heights of 2.0 to 3.0 meters. Other areas, including Cozumel and Playa del Carmen, are also expected to see cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and showers.
