Quintana Roo Governor recognizes vector control workers

Quintana Roo Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa recognized the work of vector control personnel during the Day of Vector Workers. The recognition highlights the ongoing efforts of brigades to protect families by preventing diseases such as dengue, Zika, and chikungunya.

Key activities performed by the personnel include larval control, entomological surveillance to identify high-risk areas, and the elimination of mosquito breeding sites. The brigades also conduct nebulization and fumigation sessions across various municipalities.

In addition to field operations, workers visit homes, schools, and public spaces to provide guidance to the population on preventive measures. Lezama noted that while malaria is considered eradicated in the state, continuous vigilance remains a priority in the state's health strategy.
