Quintana Roo hosts regional assembly to strengthen public resource oversight

The Second Ordinary Assembly of the Southeast Region of the Permanent Commission of State-Federation Comptrollers was held in Bacalar, Quintana Roo. The meeting focused on reviewing progress for the 2026 Annual Work Plan, which aims to strengthen the oversight and control of public resources.

Reyna Arceo Rosado, head of the Quintana Roo Secretariat for Anti-Corruption and Good Governance, emphasized that the 2026 roadmap faces challenges regarding the use of technological tools, data analysis, and the improvement of auditing processes. She noted that preventing the diversion of funds directly impacts the availability of medicines, schools, and security.

Representing the federal government, Alejandro Encinas Nájera, Undersecretary of Good Governance, presented results concerning public procurement improvements, direct dialogue with local suppliers, and increased contract monitoring. Additionally, representatives from Yucatán and Chiapas presented regional reports on fiscalization monitoring and system development, respectively.
