Quintana Roo launches leadership diploma for women

The Government of Quintana Roo has opened pre-registration for a diploma program titled ‘Women’s Human Rights: Leadership, Citizen Participation, and Politics in Quintana Roo’. The initiative aims to strengthen women's capacity to exercise and defend their human, citizen, and political-electoral rights while promoting leadership in public decision-making through perspectives of gender equality, non-discrimination, and intersectionality.

The program will be conducted virtually from February to April 2027, consisting of 120 hours divided into five modules: human rights and political participation, identification and prevention of violence, protection and defense of rights, women as agents of change, and analysis of political violence cases. The virtual format is intended to allow participation from various municipalities across the state without requiring travel.

Target participants include individuals with at least a bachelor's degree, particularly in social sciences, law, public administration, education, or social work. The program is open to public servants, civil society members, human rights defenders, and academics. Additionally, 65 full scholarships will be provided for women with undergraduate studies.
