Quintana Roo launches online driver's license renewal
The Instituto de Movilidad de Quintana Roo (IMOVEQROO) has launched an online renewal service for A1 (automobilist) and A2 (motorcyclist) driver's licenses. This digital initiative aims to modernize mobility services and reduce the need for in-person visits to government offices.
Users can complete the process 24/7 via the Portal del Conductor. To renew, applicants must validate their identity using their CURP and current license folio, provide an official photo ID, and submit a recent proof of address. The service is specifically for those who already hold a previously issued IMOVEQROO license; individuals with authorized discounts or those applying for different license categories must still complete the process in person.
Once the payment is processed, the new license is delivered directly to the address registered on the previous license via DHL, which provides real-time shipment tracking. IMOVEQROO head Rafael Hernández Kotasek stated that the program utilizes technology to make public services faster and more accessible to citizens.
