Quintana Roo launches Ruta Calderitas bus service in Chetumal

On Monday, the state government of Quintana Roo began operating the new Ruta Calderitas bus line in Chetumal, part of the Tu Ruta Chetumal program aimed at improving mobility for the coastal community.

The route, managed by the Instituto de Movilidad del Estado de Quintana Roo (IMOVEQROO) and announced by its director Rafael Hernández Kotasek, will run free from 3 to 9 August while residents test the service. Buses run every 15 minutes from 06:00 to 22:00, seven days a week.

The line serves 44 neighborhoods, connects 59 schools, 15,605 homes and 2,463 businesses, and reaches key sites such as the Naval Hospital, Hospital Materno Infantil Morelos, the Jesús Martínez Ross telesecundaria, the Mirador, the Pascual Cruz Burgos stadium, the Mostrenco sports center and the Parque de Los Caimanes. About 41,287 people are expected to benefit directly.
